4th edition of the mobility forum
As a pillar of the economy, transport accounts for a quarter of the EU’s greenhouse gas emissions. It is therefore essential to successfully transition this sector towards defossilisation while contributing to the development of the economy, without threatening the freedom of movement that is essential to our society.
Since 2022, the European Low Carbon Mobility Forum in Pau (France) has enabled private and public stakeholders to find information and solutions to meet the challenges of deploying decarbonized or defossilized mobility:
The 4th edition of the PAU low-carbon mobility forum will be held on April 28 and 29, 2025, adopting a new format focusing on the dissemination of innovative and impactful contributions and reflections on these more topical than ever subjects.
The 4th edition of the PAU low-carbon mobility forum will be held on April 28 and 29, 2025: Place Royale PAVILLON DES ARTS, PAU (France).
Edition 2025
Prior to the publication of the NEW CLEAN EUROPEAN INDUSTRIAL DEAL, and in the difficult context that European industry is currently experiencing, where uncertainties are numerous and trade tensions between major powers are exacerbated, this 4th edition of the PAU low-carbon mobility forum aims to take a clear inventory of the prospects in the field of mobility, and to present proposals to accelerate the trajectories towards carbon neutrality.
Aimed primarily at mobility stakeholders and French and European decision-makers, this forum will alternate between political panels and more technical panels.
Technical program
The technical programme will be developed by a Scientific Committee chaired by Florence Delprat-Jannaud (IFPEN), which brings together a jury of European personalities who are references on these subjects:
- Raphaël Boroumand, Professor of Economics, Paris School of Business
- Anne Bouter, Scientific Officer. European Commission Joint Research Centre
- David Chiaramonti, Professor of Energy Economics, and Bioeconomy for MED and Third Countries, Politecnico di Torino
- Maria Georgiadou, Senior Expert Senior Expert – Renewable energy R&I policy, renewable fuels, biofuels and bioenergy, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Commission
It is the subject of a call for contributions on the following themes:
- Availability of resources for sustainable mobility: what is the reality?
Issues related to electromobility and metals, biomass, H2, biogenic CO2, NGV, etc. - Comparative analysis in Life Cycle Analysis, where are we?
Decarbonization projections from estimated vehicle fleets in 2050
Health impact of different technologies - The economic model and competitiveness of Europe: diagnosis of the industrial situation of all the players in the value chain, what are the issues, what are the impact factors?
What obstacles must be removed for the real competitiveness of European industry and to accelerate investment decisions in low-carbon technological solutions (H2, advanced biofuels –road, maritime, SAF-, e-fuels..) ?
Complementarity between the different sectors (air, maritime, road – incl. private vehicles)
Why an event dedicated to low-carbon mobility?
The environmental context
An urgent need to find solutions, new practices to adapt our uses, the way we produce, consume, and move in the face of the climate imperative.

Identify low-carbon solutions
A growing need to bring together stakeholders and services for the deployment of vehicles and other low-carbon mobility solutions, infrastructure and equipment, energy solutions, means of financing, etc.
Bringing all actors together
A need shared by all to bring together the entire ecosystem necessary for the deployment of decarbonized mobility: private and public stakeholders, experts and users, etc.
An event integrated into the annual program of the Pau Motors Festival of the City of Pau
When the stated desire for carbon neutrality in a region leads to an innovative project. That of thoroughly renewing a heritage event, the Pau Automobile Grand Prix, to place it at the service of the energy transition and new forms of mobility.
The historic setting of the legendary race in the city centre of Pau serves as the setting for a new festival, a European showcase for electric propulsion, hydrogen solutions, new fuels, but also a celebration of the great moments of the automobile and exceptional drivers.
This is the challenge that the Pau Motors Festival launched in 2022 has taken up.
The new orientation of the Pau Grand Prix enabled the general public to discover and better understand the various technologies available to decarbonize the transport sector and institutional mobility. In 2022 and 2023, for the return of the event after a 2-year hiatus due to Covid-19, the new format attracted an average of 150,000 visitors over 2 weekends, and received extensive media coverage.
Before imposing its new calendar rhythm in 2025, the Pau Motors Festival is taking advantage of 2024 to undergo its organizational and functional transformation, while proposing a calendar of complementary events, the first of which is the European Forum for Low Carbon Mobility Pau 2024, with a new ambition and a new approach in terms of content.
